Thank you for your post, Kevin.
ReplyDeleteNot only I'm a follower of your blog, but have also read many of your contributions to Proz forums. I can remember one where you made up new "discounts we should offer" because of the financial crisis. It was hilarious!
I think your cartoon format is simply brilliant for a blog. I would find a wider layout, however, because it would be nice not to have to blow up the smaller versions to see the contributions at a resolution my old eyes can handle.
ReplyDeleteOften when I read Dilbert I think we translators need something like that to express the frequent absurdity of our world. Thank you for filling that gap!
Thank you for the advice. I'm working already on the wider layout, but Google blogger is not making things easy.
ReplyDeleteI love Dilbert, not only because he is extremely funny, but because you can also learn how business really work.
Google Blogger doesn't make much easy when it gets to the fine points. If I had it to do all over again I would do this blog on my own domain with Wordpress (like I do for the dog blog), because there is a world of difference in flexibility.
ReplyDeleteAs for Dilbert, I have known people who couldn't stand the strip. My ex was one of them: she used to go on about how it wasn't funny, made no sense, etc. Then she got a job at a big company and the light went on as she saw the absurdity of her daily routine reflected with often subtle wit. You have to know a world to appreciate its jokes, and I laugh a lot with your strips.
