Working with it feels like walking in uncomfortable shoes and causes headaches, hurting hands and the urgent desire to smash something.
The following list of complaints is not exhaustive:
- You still need 3 keys to insert one tag and there is no sorting option like in MemoQ. In addition, Wordfast 5 will insert tags in indefinite numbers, if you miscount while inserting
- If you click on a TM entry in the lower area (TM search) because you are trying to select a certain term or phrase copy/past from a previous translation, it will replace all your work in the segment above, which will be lost as a result, unless previously saved.
- In order to view the TM entries for the next segment you have to confirm first the current one, even if you are not done yet
- their new QA, i.e. is simply ridiculous and much worse than the previous Wordfast 3 version, because it buries (at least for the combination EN/GER) the really important matters under a huge amount of false positive warnings and/or completely irrelevant matter (even after customizing).
- the spellcheck is as backward as in Wordfast 3 (no grammar errors)
- there are also technical instabilities on a level where I lack the expertise for an detailed description, but I observed that the Wordfast has serious functionality hickups (TM lookup) when I open certain other programs, such as audible, or some websites
- furthermore, the progress report does not function under all circumstances (it fails when one starts merging or splitting segments and never recovers for the respective file)
- many important functionalities are deeply hidden and require a cumbersome number of
actions in order to reach and perform them (bilingual export/import)
- and the surface might be ok for large screens, on a 15'' laptop screen it just feels cramped.
roushannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07435812241672750546noreply@blogger.com
